This is my first issue entry, so please forgive any errors in procedure or
content! I wasn't able to find an entry elsewhere for this particular item.

MS Excel has a keyboard shorcut for entering the current time in the active
cell: Ctrl+Shift+; [semi-colon]. The shortcut for entering the current date is
Ctrl+;.

This is a handy feature for those [like me!] who use the spreadsheet for making
current time and date entries. I use it in a time sheet for my work.

How do you enter date/time field now ? I cannot see the menu option to enter
these values automatically ?
In writer there is an option like Insert->fields ->date

When using Excel, data is typoed directly into the cell, if one doesn't use the
keyboard shortcut.
Comment 3 jgfuller 2005-09-29 16:35:07 UTC
In Excel, there is no menu option to insert time or date, like there is in
Writer or MS Word.
