Hi, I think this is possible since the first version of OOo. Go to format page-Sheet and select fit pintout to x Page(s). Bettina, could you evaluate the users suggestions, please ? Frank I had in mind this: I have spreadsheet, where first 3 cells are vericalli merged, the rest not: ------------------------ |first something |second |third ------------------------ When this happens in the end of page, calc can print out so: ------------------------ |first (page break) something |second |third ------------------------ I want, that user could select, to keep range together, or repeat the content in first column like this: ------------------------ something |first (page break) something |second |third ------------------------ I hope you can understand Still applies for 2.4.1. Printing should not split merged cells between pages if possible. It should try to keep merged cells together, even if it means one more page in total. To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements". Created attachment 77101 [details]
Example OOo spreadsheet file for illustrating merged cells printing issue
Hi,
Issue still applies to OOo 3.3.0...
A small OOo spreadsheet testcase file is attached: just click on "Print preview" to see that some merged cells in column A appear split across 2 pages and the letters in the cell are also split in half (you may change the top and bottom margin height in "Page setup" to see that depending on their values you can get more or less merged cells split).
A "Protect merged cells" feature is missing to avoid this ugly print layout.
