- Start OOo Version 3.1 or higher
- Tools / Options... / Language Settings / Tabpage Languages
- Mark Checkbox Enabled for complex text layout (CTL)
- File / Open...
- Enter the name of the attached Testdocument (chartrtl_corrected.ods) in the File name textfield
- Press open
- Check, if Object Chart 2: Left to right show the correct (left to right) writing direction for Title and Subtitle
- Check, if Object Chart 3: Right to left show the correct (right to left) writing direction for Title and Subtitle
- Switch into the Chart
inplace mode chart Object Chart 1: Use superordinate settings (Double click the chart object)
- Select the Title
- Kontextmenu / Object properties.../ Tabpage Alignment
- Check, if the settings for Text direction are Use superordinate object settings
- Change the Text direction for the Title to Right to left
- Leave the Dialog by using ok
- Check, if the Text direction for the Title switched to right to left direction
- File / Save as... {name of your choice}
- File / reload
- Check, if the Text direction for the Title are right to left
- Change the Text direction for the Title to Use superordinate object settings
- Format / Page... / Tabpage Page
- Change the Text direction to Right to left (horizontal)
- Leave the Dialog by using ok
- Check, if the Text direction for the Title switched to right to left direction
- Check, if the Text direction for the Subtitle switched to right to left direction
- File / Save
- File / reload
- Check, if the Text direction for the Title are right to left
- Check, if the Text direction for the Subtitle are right to left
- Switch into the Chart
inplace mode chart Object Chart 1: Use superordinate settings (Double click the chart object)
- Select the Subtitle
- Kontextmenu / Object properties.../ Tabpage Alignment
- Check, if the settings for Text direction are Use superordinate object settings
- Change the Text direction for the Subtitle to Left to right
- Leave the Dialog by using ok
- Check, if the Text direction for the Subtitle switched to Left to right direction
- Edit / Undo
- Check, if the Text direction for the Subtitle switched to Right to left direction
- Edit / Redo
- Check, if the Text direction for the Subtitle switched to Left to right direction

- Check, if the settings for Text direction are Use superordinate object settings

- Check, if the Text direction for the equation are still left to right direction (only western characters will not change the writing direction)
